Season 3, Episodes 8: “Mess in Aisle 7,” and Episode 9: “Alliance of the Dark” Online!

Posted by Beast575 with No Comments

These few episodes, directed by Christopher Scott and Ryan Landels, introduce some terrific new characters portrayed by some of the biggest names in dance.

You may recognize “America’s Best Dance Crew” champions IaMmE, and “Live to Dance” finalist Kendall Glover, for starters. These episodes also lay home to the on-screen debuts of many dancers who have worked with the LXD in the past: “So You Think You Can Dance” contestant Ashley Galvan, who performed with the LXD at Carnival; “Burlesque” actress and dancer Tyne Stecklein, who previously appeared in the LXD short film, “Matched“; Youtube sensation Angelo “Lil Demon” Baghdad, who has been with the LXD since their first performance on Youtube Live; and Jessica Lee Keller,  who danced with the legion on SYTYCD and in Beijing.

You also see the development of some of your other favorite characters with the assistance of choreography by Kenneth “Free” Crawford, Dee Caspary, and Christopher Scott. Enjoy!

Trailer: AXI Season One

Posted by Beast575 with No Comments

Check out the second trailer for the first season of AXI (Avengers of eXtreme Illusions), an online series that features a new celebrity dancer each episode, and creates a story through the use of movement expression. While it may sound similar to the LXD, Director/Creator Shawn Welling has created a unique approach to the series that sets itself apart. Welling compares the series to “The Twilight Zone,” with a more modern feel and a dancer’s perspective. He writes, “AXI was created simply to allow the public to view the art of dance in a cinematic setting and is not for financial profit or gain in any way.”

Dancers slated to perform include IaMmE members Di “Moon” Zhang, Emilio “Millie” Dosal, Brandon “747″ Harrell, and Olivia “Chachi” Gonzales. An episode with Jaja Vankova is also in the works. IaMmE is also set to appear in the ninth episode of LXD Season 3, called “Alliance of the Dark” (thanks to Lemur777 for the tip!). Other dancers set to make AXI appearances include Arielle Coker, who has been a featured dancer on several seasons of “So You Think You Can Dance,” and Jordan “Sifu” Kolar, creator of Illovation, “World of Dance Dallas” champs 2010.

Below, she presents her own creation. She writes:

” SPLIT PERSONALITY- mental illness or symptom of serious psychotic illnesses like for example schizophrenia is subjective feeling of the existence of two independent “I” in a single, which is manifested in different ways. ”

My new theme for my project, which has inspired me and here is the result.

Catching Up for Lost Time

Posted by Beast575 with 1 Comment

Sorry about the lack of updates, folks! Me and my counterpart have been especially busy as of late, as you may have noticed. So, here are the most important things that have happened within the past couple of weeks that you need to know about:

  • Kathryn McCormick (pictured above), one of the ballerinas from the short film, “Matched,” has been cast as the lead role in the upcoming “Step Up 4,” directed by Scott Speer. Her character, Emily, is described on the casting website as, “21/Beautiful/Privileged. Her mom died five years ago, it’s a tough reality with uber-successful, ‘father knows best’ dad, Mr. Anderson. Formally trained classical, lyrical dancer. Quarter life crisis – Just graduated NYU, but Emily still holds onto her dream of being a professional dancer. In Miami for the summer and at a crossroads in her life. Strong, smart, and sassy. Always has her guard up against guys, she assumes everyone wants to date her for her money. She meets Sean, who introduces her to his flashmob: a free form, no rules creative outlet, coupled with rebellion and risk.” You can also catch Kathryn as an all-star on the Wednesday’s episode of “So You Think You Can Dance.”
  • Daniel “Cloud” Campos (The Illister) can be seen as the lead male in Sade’s new music video, “Love Is Found.”
  • The LXD has posted a new photo of Season 3 on their twitter and facebook pages. The picture features Ashley Galvan alongside four other women dressed in military attire; the caption reads, “FIGHT FOR THE FUTURE. LXD SEASON THREE. COMING SOON.”
You can view the photo here.
  • LXD choreographer Christopher Scott had two featured routines on this past week’s episode of “So You Think You Can Dance.” One routine highlighted Invisible Children’s cause, and another was a beautiful lyrical routine set to “Just the Way You Are.” You can see the routines here and here.
  • Although Jeremy Marinas won’t be returning in Season 3, he will be appearing in the upcoming film, “The Hunger Games,” starring Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson, set to be released in 2012. He’s released a video promoting his appearance in the movie. You can watch his video here.
  • Team iLuminate featuring LXD members John “JRock” Nelson,  Jay “JSmooth” Gutierrez, Philip “Spee-D” Albuquerque, and Ivan “Flipz” Velez, has made it to the Top 48 on “America’s Got Talent!” Click here to find out more, and click here to see their audition.
  • Phillip “Pacman” Chbeeb stars in an online youtube series, “AXI,” or, “Avengers of Xtreme Illusions.” The series is similar to the LXD in style and storytelling, and great for any LXD fan who can’t wait for Season 3. You can watch the first episode here. Episode Two will feature fellow IaMmE members Emilio “Millie” Dosal (choreo video) and Brandon “747″ Harrel (choreo video). IaMmE, winners of “America’s Best Dance Crew,” will be appearing in The LXD’s third season.
  • Harry Shum Jr. was the guest coach for the cast of the Glee Project on the episode, “Dance ability.” Be warned, he doesn’t dance himself. He just coaches the dancing! Watch the episode here.

Photo: IaMmE With The LXD Preview

IaMmE has posted a preview photo from their experience shooting with the LXD. The caption reads, “I.aM.mE feat LXD, subscribe http://www.youtube.com/marvelousmoonhttp://www.twitter.com/marvelousmoon and follow me on twitter,” which indicates that the LXD might be featured on a youtube video via Moon’s channel, rather than the crew being seen in an LXD episode.
