So Here’s The Deal…

Posted by Beast575 with 1 Comment

Hey guys! I’m really sorry about the lack of updates, but I’m afraid that at least for the time being, LXD Inspired is going to be a little dead. I’m a college student working three jobs and with a contract to a part-time performing dance company. Therefore, I don’t have a whole lot of extra time, and the blog is having to take a backseat in my life. That being said, I’ll probably pop back around the time Season 4 premieres. If anybody else would like to contribute to the blog and keep it going in our absence, shoot us an email at LXDInspired@gmail.com.

We’re still big fans, and we’re still going to be avid followers of the LXD mythology. Thanks to all our followers and supporters who have stuck with us in our long run–keep up with the LXD by following them on twitter and on facebook. Wishing you the best,

Chad

“Step Up 4″ Poster & Synopsis

Posted by admin with 1 Comment

The next “Step Up” film is all about flash mobs.

During the American Film Market this week, Summit Entertainment released the first poster and official synopsis for “Step Up 4” this week.

The film stars Kathryn McCormick (“So You Think You Can Dance,” “Fame”) and Ryan Guzman.

Here is the official synopsis:
“STEP UP 4” is the next installment in the worldwide smash STEP UP franchise, which sets the dancing against the vibrant backdrop of Miami. EMILY (Kathryn McCormick), the daughter of a wealthy businessman, arrives in Miami with aspirations of becoming a professional dancer, but soon falls in love with SEAN (Ryan Guzman), a young man who leads a dance crew in elaborate, cutting-edge flash mobs. The crew, called the MOB, strives to win a contest for a major sponsorship opportunity, but soon Emily’s father threatens to develop the MOB’s historic neighborhood and displace thousands of people. Emily must band together with Sean and the MOB to turn their performance mobs into protest mobs, and risk losing their dreams to fight for a greater cause.

The film is directed by Scott Speer (“The LXD: The Legion of Extraordinary Dancers”). The screenplay is penned by Jenny Mayer.

“Step Up 4” will be in theaters in both 2D and 3D on July 27 next year.

Mass Update: 9/29/2011

Posted by Beast575 with No Comments

I’m sorry for the lack of updates, guys. I’ve been super busy. I wish I had time to put these all in their own posts, but for now they’re going to have to stay clumped together. Here are the major things going on in the LXD world that I’ve missed these past couple weeks:

LXD News

  • Mike Song (Umbra) posted some of the rehearsal footage of the dancers from the episode, “Reprogram.” Check it out HERE. The video features choreography by Mike Song and Kenneth “Free Boogie” Crawford, and is danced by Madd Chadd and Pandora, Umbras Brandon Phillips, Cassidy Noblett, H20, Taichi, JD McElroy and Jesse Morales, and Energies Free Boogie, Mike Song, Anthony Lee, and Tony Tran.

Keeping up with the LXD Dancers

I’ll try to come around more, and be more on top of my game. Hopefully there will be a few more posts up here in the next couple days!

Season 3 Finale “Rise of the Drifts” Now Online!

Posted by Beast575 with No Comments

Ooohh boy. You don’t want to miss this one. This episode has everything. Some of those characters that we’ve been wondering about all season are back in this episode, although a large amount of the core cast is missing–notably Harry Shum as Elliot Hoo, Christopher Scott as Copeland, Terence Dickson as Minijack, Lil C as Z, David “Kid David” Schreibman as Karen, Daniel “Cloud” Campos as The Illister, and Travis Wong as Jimmy Angel,. The LXD cast has blown up in size, so a few absences are understandable. Even so, this is arguably one of the best and most creative LXD episode we’ve seen thus far. Check it out below:

Season 3, Episodes 8: “Mess in Aisle 7,” and Episode 9: “Alliance of the Dark” Online!

Posted by Beast575 with No Comments

These few episodes, directed by Christopher Scott and Ryan Landels, introduce some terrific new characters portrayed by some of the biggest names in dance.

You may recognize “America’s Best Dance Crew” champions IaMmE, and “Live to Dance” finalist Kendall Glover, for starters. These episodes also lay home to the on-screen debuts of many dancers who have worked with the LXD in the past: “So You Think You Can Dance” contestant Ashley Galvan, who performed with the LXD at Carnival; “Burlesque” actress and dancer Tyne Stecklein, who previously appeared in the LXD short film, “Matched“; Youtube sensation Angelo “Lil Demon” Baghdad, who has been with the LXD since their first performance on Youtube Live; and Jessica Lee Keller,  who danced with the legion on SYTYCD and in Beijing.

You also see the development of some of your other favorite characters with the assistance of choreography by Kenneth “Free” Crawford, Dee Caspary, and Christopher Scott. Enjoy!

Video: Jillian Meyers at BoogieZone

Posted by Beast575 with No Comments

Jillian Meyers has performed with the LXD several times, but has unfortunately never had the opportunity to film an episode. She’s an incredibly busy and successful dancer, and has actually collaborated with LXD choreographer Galen Hooks. Below, she returns to the BoogieZone community to teach yet another fantastic contemporary class. She gives an amazing solo and then answers some questions about her career in the interview segment–she even talks about the LXD around 3:08.

Video: Jeremy Marinas, “sept9 raw clips”

Posted by Beast575 with No Comments

Jeremy Marinas‘s character remains the LXD’s biggest mystery. Justin Starr as not appeared since the Season 1 finale, when we saw him walking into the LXD’s headquarters.

Jeremy is one of the most talented trickers in the business, and you can see why in the video below:
